... "The Distance of the Moon" ...

At one time, according to Sir George H. Darwin, the Moon was very close to the Earth. Then the tides gradually pushed her far away: the tides that the Moon herself causes inthe Earth's waters, where the Earth slowly loses energy. (...)

In reality, from the top of the ladder, standing erect on the last rung, you could justtouch the Moon if you held your arms up. (...)

I'll tell you something else: a body that descended to the Earth from the satellite was still charged for a while with lunar force and rejected the attraction of our world.(...)

FULL MOON

(...) At the Full Moon, the energy builds and builds....there's an explosive outgoing aspect to it. All of nature grows and is more vital at the full Moon. This surge allows you to take action on behalf of those new Moon intentions you set two week prior. A full Moon ritual might involve taking one solid step, with a symbolic action. And it can be a powerful time to release, cast out, unburden yourself, purge, etc. You celebrate your emergence by stepping out of an old skin, identity, behavior, attitude, relationship. The ritual helps you by marking this inner transformation in a formal way. (...)

To be Honest with yourself...

Supposedly being honest should make life simpler and clearer, but very often we choose dishonesty to make it easier on us or on others...

As most of our behaviors, the tendency to change truth seems to start when we are children and we want to avoid punishment. Fear gets the better of us and we say something in an effort to avoid the consequences of whatever it was that we did.

Since keeping us away from pain and fear are the strongest human motivators, we quickly learn to fall back on dishonesty anytime we think it will spare us from painful consequences.

But our mind is watching it all, and won't stop reporting on ourselves, so you feel bad with yourself. You're not being true to yourself.

Being honest requires courage because it makes us vulnerable and accountable.

Let yourself be vulnerable and accountable, let yourself grow with your choices and don't act as a victim of random events. Build yourself up.

Happiness floats...

So Much Happiness

It is difficult to know what to do with so much happiness.
With sadness there is something to rub against,
a wound to tend with lotion and cloth.
When the world falls in around you, you have pieces to pick up,
something to hold in your hands, like ticket stubs or change.

But happiness floats.
It doesn't need you to hold it down.
It doesn't need anything.
Happiness lands on the roof of the next house, singing,
and disappears when it wants to.
You are happy either way.
Even the fact that you once lived in a peaceful tree house
and now live over a quarry of noise and dust
cannot make you unhappy.
Everything has a life of its own,
it too could wake up filled with possibilities
of coffee cake and ripe peaches,
and love even the floor which needs to be swept,
the soiled linens and scratched records…..

Since there is no place large enough
to contain so much happiness,
you shrug, you raise your hands, and it flows out of you
into everything you touch. You are not responsible.
You take no credit, as the night sky takes no credit
for the moon, but continues to hold it, and share it,
and in that way, be known.
